A recently renovated five-star in the middle of the CBD, a short walk from the waterfront and Te Papa.
The InterContinental is at 2 Grey Street, in the middle of the CBD. Trip.com lists a renovation in 2025 or 2026, depending on the regional page, so expect fresh rooms.
Wellington is a walking city, and this is one of the most central hotels in it. Parking is available at about NZ$50 a day, check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is at 11:00. Pets are not permitted.
Choose it for a city break where you will do the waterfront, Te Papa and the cafes on foot. Wind and rain are normal in Wellington; a hotel you can walk back to from dinner is worth more here than most places.
